Three Things to Do to Your Lights with Fall Coming

Published Post author

Since it is officially autumn, there are certain steps you will need to take to “winterize” your lights.

(1) Clean those lights. Barn lights can often be many feet high above your head, but in order to do your autumnal cleaning, you’re going to have to clean those bad boys. Find your tallest ladder and set it up against something sturdy, so that you can climb on up, all the way to those barn lights that are so hard to reach. Once you’ve climbed the ladder and reached the top, you’ll want to take a good old bucket of warm water and soap and a piece of cloth or a towel. Start cleaning your light fixture with only the towel until you’re able to get all or most of the dust and dirt off. Next, you are going to want to dip that cloth into the bucket of warm soapy water, squeeze the extra water out, and then wipe the entire light fixture clean. Often this will mean that you will need to sometimes adjust the height of your ladder, so that you will be able to reach all sides of the light.

(2) After cleaning your light, you will most likely need to change your light bulb. One of the worst things you can do is have multiple lights that are meant to be lighting up your barn, but are in fact doing nothing like that at all. There are some light bulbs you might want to consider using that are energy efficient.

(3) Besides cleaning your lights and changing light bulbs, you will want to apply any paint or finish to fixtures that are starting to rust up or fade. This will ensure that you have lights ready for spring and ready for action. You will be able to rest easy during the winter months, knowing your lights need no more work. Get ‘er done!

Finallly Got My Lights Up

Published Post author

I finally got my barn lights installed in my barn. I’m so excited! It wasnt easy! Boy I tell ya! I was trying to re-wire the whole barn because we hadnt had lights in there since I could remember! I finally gave up and I had to call my uncle who’s an electrician. I learned me some things about lights that I didnt know before, so if any of these light fixtures start actin up, I’ll replace them. But I don’t think these lights will be actin up any time soon. I bought them from a company called Barn Light Originals, and they make all their products here in the United States, so I have faith in my country and the Americans who build American products. They got to me pretty quick too. I ordered them on one week and then I got them a week and a half later. Im fixing to buy some more some time soon, but mu mommas been buggin me about all the ones I already bought, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

My F-150 and my Barn

Published Post author

In my quest for helping America be the great nation it once was, I’ve made it my duty to buy only American products. Here’s a little story about how I took a liking to barn lights:

Lately as soon as I get off of work I’ve been working on my old Ford truck. It’s been raining out here, so I hauled the truck into our barn. We used to have horses in there, but times are tough right now, and anyone who’s ever owned a horse knows that they ain’t cheap. So the old barn has just been sittin there gathering dust. There ain’t no lights in there or nothing, so I can only work when its daylight out. But man, I love my F-150, and I want it runnin again fast. Being as how I need light, I’m gonna light up the barn with some American lights. I went online and I found this website called www.barnlightoriginals.com. I didn’t know that barns had a type of style, but after looking at their products I see that barn lights do have a particular style that I really like. They aren’t sissy outdoor barn lights, there manly and I wouldn’t mind putting them up on my barn. Their website says that all of their lights are made in America, so that’s pretty dog on cool. So I called the folks there and asked them if they sold barnlights. I figured they would since that’s what there called, but I don’t like buying too many things on the internet because you never know if those websites are trustful. As soon as I called them, they struck me as pretty honest people, so I asked if I can order my barn light fixtures on the phone, and they let me, so I thought they were alright. You can even put a LED light in em. Anyway, so here are the barn lights I picked for my barn:

I like the goosenecks for outside of the barn, and I also got some regular ceiling lights for inside of the barn too. I really took a liking to their Authenticate Barn Light because there aint nothing sissy about that light. I got the 27 inch cause why not? The bigger the better! Their prices are pretty high up there, but they say they make these lights to last forever and you’ll see them on the streets because the government likes buying them. As momma used to say, you get what you pay for, so Im a be getting myself some darn good barn lights!

Warehouse Shade Barn Lights | Original Industrial Lighting

Published Post author

Industrial-quality warehouse shades have made their way to homes, businesses, and indoor and outdoor spaces everywhere. Their classic design allows them the flexibility of looking good in just about any space. But where do these smart shade designs come from? That’s a great question! Back in the 1920s and 30s, America went through an industrial craze of its own. With car companies like Ford, GM, and Chrysler manufacturing cars to satiate the car demand of the Roaring 20s, many industrial buildings, like manufacturing plants and warehouses, were created to manufacture and house the enormous amount of merchandise. But with lots of merchandise to be handled at all hours of the day, merchants had to make sure their warehouses and manufacturing facilities were well-lit. This prompted the birth of the original Warehouse Shade Barn Light. These porcelain-made lights were large in size and practical for industrial lighting purposes. In order to be used as commercial lights, they were made well, and built to last.

Industrial Barn Lights for Residential Purposes

As time passed, many barn owners caught on to the commercial quality of these fixtures and began using these lights for their own barns, which also required durable, heavy-duty lighting. Due to their popularity among barn owners, warehouse shades eventually became known as barn lights, which is what most people call them today. In fact, today barn lights are still used in both commercial and residential applications of all sorts. You can find them in restaurants, malls, promenades, homes. These light fixtures serve all types of purposes! You can even put LED light bulbs in them, and their classic design allows them the flexibility to fit just about anywhere!
